The PMF Alpha 2.5 Inch Lift Kit is designed for short bed Super Duty owners who want improved ride quality, better suspension performance, and a more controlled driving experience without sacrificing everyday usability. Whether the truck is used as a daily driver, weekend toy, tow rig, or high-horsepower street truck, this system delivers increased suspension travel and improved handling while maintaining the practicality of the factory rear suspension.
At the heart of the Alpha Series is a dual-rate front coil spring engineered to provide a smoother ride on pavement and improved capability when the terrain gets rough. The system adds over 3 Inches of additional wheel travel compared to stock, helping the suspension react more effectively to bumps, ruts, and uneven surfaces. In the rear, PMF retains the factory leaf springs rather than relying on stiff add-a-leaf components, preserving the ride characteristics Ford intended while improving stability through the use of a traction bar system.
Front Axle
Customers can choose between two front suspension configurations based on how the truck will be driven. The Short Arm 4-Link setup is geared toward maximum axle control and traction, making it a popular choice for competitive applications and high-horsepower builds. Drivers looking for a more refined ride will appreciate the Adjustable 3-Link Arms, which improve steering feel, suspension articulation, and overall comfort. Both options provide caster adjustment for proper alignment and optimized handling.
Track Bar
Included with every kit is PMF's Direct Replacement Adjustable Track Bar. Constructed from heavy-duty 1.5 Inch OD x .250 wall DOM tubing and equipped with an oversized 1 Inch QA1 heim joint, this component helps maintain precise steering control while offering exceptional durability. The direct bolt-on design simplifies installation and eliminates the need for modifications.
Rear Axle
Short bed trucks often see a mix of street driving, off-road use, and performance applications, which makes rear-end stability especially important. This system uses the factory leaf springs along with a selectable-height traction block kit to achieve the desired stance. The included Stage 2 Gusseted Traction Bar Kit helps control axle wrap and wheel hop, improving traction and keeping the truck composed during acceleration, towing, and spirited driving.
U-Bolts
The Alpha Series includes 5/8 Inch U-bolts as standard equipment. Owners running larger tires, increased horsepower, or demanding towing applications may choose to upgrade to 3/4 Inch U-bolts for additional clamping strength and durability. Options are available for both Single Rear Wheel (SRW) and Dual Rear Wheel (DRW) trucks.
Leaf Pack Identification
Before ordering, verify the rear leaf spring configuration on your truck. Standard leaf packs generally measure 2 to 3 Inches thick and use a full-length primary leaf. Trucks equipped with a top-mounted overload spring will have an additional overload leaf separated from the main pack. Selecting the correct option ensures proper fitment and ride height.
Shock Options
A variety of shock packages are available to match different driving styles and performance goals. Bilstein 5100 shocks offer an excellent balance of comfort and control for everyday use. Bilstein 5160 reservoir shocks provide increased cooling capacity and improved performance when driving off-road or under load. For customers seeking maximum suspension performance, PMF Race Series shocks can be custom built and valved specifically for the truck's intended use, delivering a tailored combination of ride quality, control, and durability.
