CARB EO # D-721-8 Currently ONLY valid for 2017-2019 Ford F250 F350 6.7L Powerstroke 50 State Legal. More year ranges are in the works with CARB
The factory cold-side charge pipe on the 2017–2026 6.7L Powerstroke is constructed from a combination of plastic and rubber sections. While designed for cost efficiency and flexibility, these materials expand under boost pressure and repeated heat cycles.
It is common for the factory plastic connector near the throttle valve to crack, or for the rubber section to split over time — creating a massive boost leak and sudden loss of power.
Rubber expands. Plastic fatigues. Aluminum maintains its shape.
Under towing, heavy load, or tuned conditions, expansion in the factory plastic and rubber piping can disrupt airflow consistency and increase the likelihood of boost leaks.
Sinister Diesel replaces the factory assembly with a full 3" mandrel-bent, TIG-welded aluminum charge pipe engineered for structural strength and airflow efficiency.
Independent airflow testing confirms up to 27% less restriction compared to factory piping across the usable airflow range.
Lower restriction improves overall charge system efficiency and helps maintain consistent boost delivery under load.
Features:
Charge air systems must balance diameter, air velocity, and turbo response. Oversizing tubing beyond what the turbo and intercooler can efficiently support can reduce air velocity and increase system volume without delivering measurable gains.
Sinister Diesel engineered this cold-side pipe at 3" to optimize airflow efficiency, maintain proper air velocity, and support real-world towing and tuned applications — without sacrificing boost response.
This diameter provides substantial airflow improvement over the restrictive factory plastic and rubber assembly while preserving system balance and drivability.
To further prevent boost leaks, our silicone boot features a molded No-Slip Lip — an internal ridge that mechanically locks onto the pipe bead. Combined with our 3/4" wide stainless steel T-bolt clamps, this design helps prevent boot slippage under heavy boost or tuned applications.
Unlike many competitors, Sinister Diesel includes new O-rings and retaining clips. Many upgrades require reusing factory sealing components that have been heat-cycled and fatigued.
