Their strength protects against fretting between the block and the head, and helps insure the integrity of the seal around the combustion chamber. Each set of head studs comes matched with nuts and hardened washers for even distribution of clamping force and accurate torque readings.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eEach kit also includes MLS head gaskets. These Grade C gaskets are 1.05mm thick to compensate for material lost during mandatory resurfacing of the Duramax cylinder head. Each head gasket is manufactured to OEM specifications from multi-layered spring steel.
