Take your Commander to the next level. SuperATV’s Can-Am Commander 8" Portal Gear Lift lets you choose your gear reduction—45% or 60%—and your housing style—cast or billet aluminum. Built with industry-leading technology and extensive field and lab testing, it delivers extra ground clearance, room for bigger tires, and reduced stress on your drivetrain.
With the gear reduction moved all the way to the hub, strain is reduced on your axles, differential, prop shaft, and transmission, helping components last longer while you ride harder. The 8" lift helps keep you from getting swamped in deep mud and adds the torque boost you need to cut through tough terrain.
GDP portals feature reinforced housings for gear retention and optimized oil flow, advanced steel alloy backing plates that are stronger than chromoly, and advanced gaskets, O-rings, seals, and bearings designed to help prevent leaks and premature wear. They also use cool, quiet, precision-ground 9310 alloy billet steel gears and a 1.5 in. diameter 4340 hardened steel driveshaft.

The backing plates are made from an advanced steel alloy and are stronger than chromoly. You can also enhance performance with Portal Blood gear oil formulated for GDP Portals. There are no vents, since testing showed they do more harm than good.
Advanced sealing throughout includes oil-resistant gaskets, a sealed input gear, double-lipped output seal, and double-angular contact output bearings, plus roller idler and drive bearings to maintain proper gear meshing.
Portals and monster tires can add stress to your frame, so a SuperATV Frame Stiffener is recommended when you check out.
8" Portal Gear Lift includes:
- (4) Assembled portal hub boxes complete with 9310 gears, seals, output shaft, advanced gaskets, and thrust bearings
- (4) Universal hubs and precision-ground stainless steel slotted rotors with lugs
- (4) Specialized steel alloy backing plates
- (4) Steel caliper mounting plates
- (2) Steel steering arms
- Extended brake lines
- All required hardware, including recessed castle nut socket

Wheel requirements:
- 22" or larger wheel required
- Wheels cannot exceed 5" backspacing
- Wheels need to have a center hole of at least 3.25" (82.55mm) or require a 1" wheel spacer
