Description

Gear down and go big. Your Defender isn’t your Defender until you’ve got a big lift and some massive mud grips on it. This 8" GDP Portal Gear Lift gives you huge clearance and the option of a 45% or 60% gear reduction for boosted torque. For the most extreme ride, choose the 70% gear reduction with dual idler gears.

With GDP, you get a big portal lift that’s built to handle serious mud. The 8" portals also allow room for up to a 44" tire, helping you push through deep terrain with more torque and less strain on your machine.

Dual idler gear option. By placing a second idler gear in the portal box, the load is spread over twice as much surface area for more reliable torque transfer and a stronger gear set. The gears are precision CNC ground and made from 9310 steel alloy for smooth, quiet performance.

Built to protect your drivetrain. Portal gear reduction happens right in the hub, helping reduce stress on your axles, differential, prop shaft, and transmission, even with large tires.

Strong construction and sealing. Features include reinforced housings, advanced steel alloy backing plates, advanced gaskets and O-rings, a sealed input gear, double-lipped output seal, double-angular contact output bearings, and roller idler and drive bearings for proper gear meshing.

Important notes. A frame stiffener is required because of the added lift and strength of these portals. A big lift kit or 2" Forward Offset A-Arms are strongly recommended.

  • (4) Universal hubs and precision-ground stainless steel slotted rotors with lugs
  • (4) Specialized steel alloy backing plates

  • All required hardware, including recessed castle nut socket

Max tire and suspension recommendations:

  • 40" tire: 2" Forward Offset A-Arms
  • 44" tire: 6" Lift Kit
