SuperATV’s GDP 6" Portal Gear Lift for the Can-Am Defender HD5 is built for riders who want taller machines, bigger tires, and more power to the ground. Choose a 30%, 45%, or 60% gear reduction, and upgrade to dual idler gears for even greater strength and torque transfer.
GDP portals use the gear reduction in the hub instead of the transmission, helping protect your drivetrain components while keeping factory steering geometry untouched. They’re designed for all riding styles, from trails and dunes to mud and rocks.
Dual idler gear benefits: a second idler gear spreads the load over more surface area for stronger torque transfer. Precision CNC grinding and 9310 steel gears help ensure smooth, reliable operation.

Max tire size recommendation for 6" Portal Gear Lift: 34" with 2" Forward Offset A-Arms.
Max tire sizes are measured at full compression and full turn. The listed size is the largest that fits without rubbing; with minor trimming or some rub, larger tires may be used.

Wheel requirements:
- 18" or larger wheel required
- 18" wheels cannot exceed 4-1/2" backspacing
- 20" and larger wheels cannot exceed 5" backspacing
- Wheels need a center hole of at least 3.25" (82.55 mm) or require a 1" wheel spacer
Note: Big Lift Kit or 2" Forward Offset A-Arms strongly recommended.
