What is a Dual Idler®?
After years of research and development, SuperATV’s dual idler gear portals use a second idler gear in the portal box to spread the load over twice as much surface area. Precision CNC grinding ensures perfect mating, and the gears are made from 9310 steel alloy for maximum strength and durability.
Built for different riding styles
Choose a 15% gear reduction for trails, dunes, and desert riding to keep top speed while adding torque, or go with a 30% gear reduction for thick mud and rocks where maximum torque matters most.
Protects your drivetrain
Because the gear reduction happens in the hub after the transmission, prop shaft, differential, and axles, portals reduce stress on your entire drivetrain and help vital components last longer.

Recommended for added frame support
Because portals and larger tires can add stress to your machine’s frame, SuperATV recommends adding a frame stiffener when installing this portal gear lift.
Can-Am Maverick Sport portal gear reduction recommendations
- 32" tires: stock suspension
- 32" tires: 3" lift kit
- 36" tires: forward front A-arms

- Max tire sizes are measured at full compression and full turn. The listed sizes are the largest fit without rubbing. With minor trimming or a small amount of rub, larger tires can be used.

Wheel requirements
- 14" or larger wheel required
- Wheels cannot exceed 4" backspacing
- Not compatible with dual beadlock wheels
- Wheels need a center hole of at least 3.25" (82.55 mm) or require a 1" wheel spacer
