When it’s time to tackle deep mud, gear reduction reclaims the lost torque needed to turn bigger tires. Our hub-based reduction helps protect your drivetrain by reducing stress on the differential, transmission, prop shaft, and axles.
GDP Portals are built for strength with reinforced housings, 5/16" backing plates made from an advanced steel alloy, and advanced sealing components for dependable performance. The housings are optimized for gear retention and oil flow, and the design uses no vents.

The portal system uses Advanced Thermo-Tork® gaskets and O-rings, a sealed input gear, a double-lipped output seal, double-angular contact output bearings, and roller idler and drive bearings to help maintain gear meshing and sealing coverage.
A frame stiffener is required because the extreme performance of 8" GDP Portals can put additional stress on the frame. Frame stiffener addition is only compatible with models with build dates prior to March 2022.

CFMOTO UForce 1000 Max Tire Size Recommendations
- 33" tires: Stock suspension
- 36" tires: High Clearance 1.5" Forward Offset A-Arms
If you need help choosing the right gear reduction, use the portal gear reduction calculator. Max tire sizes are measured at full compression and full turn; larger tire sizes may fit with minor trimming or a small amount of rub.

Wheel Requirements:
- 22" or larger wheel required
- Wheels cannot exceed 5" backspacing
- Wheels need to have a center hole of at least 3.25" (82.55mm) or require a 1" wheel spacer
