GDP Portals Can’t Be Beat
Get a 6" Portal Gear Lift for your Honda Talon 1000R and choose the gear reduction and housing style that fits your ride. Available options include 30%, 45%, or 60% gear reduction, with billet or cast aluminum housings and an optional dual idler gear configuration for added strength.
Dual idler gear portals spread the load over twice as much surface area for more reliable torque transfer and stronger gear engagement. The gears are precision CNC ground and made from 9310 steel alloy.
Portal gear lifts place the gear reduction directly in the hub, which helps reduce stress on the differential, prop shaft, axles, and transmission. That means you can ride harder while helping protect your drivetrain.
Built for strength, these portals feature reinforced housings, 5/16" advanced steel backing plates, and advanced sealing components for dependable performance.

Our portals use advanced Thermo-Tork® gaskets and O-rings, a sealed input gear, a double-lipped output seal, double-angular contact output bearings, and roller idler and drive bearings to help maintain perfect gear meshing and resist leaks.
If you plan to run 6" GDP Portals with larger tires, a frame stiffener is highly recommended to help support the added load.

- (4) Assembled portal hub boxes complete with 9310 gears, seals, output shaft, Thermo-Tork® gaskets, and thrust bearings
- (4) Universal hubs and precision-ground stainless steel slotted rotors with lugs
- (4) Specialized steel alloy backing plates
- (4) Steel caliper mounting plates with spacers
- (8) Caliper mounting plate shims
- (2) Steel steering arms
- (2) Rear adapter plates
- (2) Preinstalled lower ball joints
- Extended brake lines
- All required hardware, including recessed castle nut socket
- Frame stiffener (must select at checkout)
Honda Talon 1000R Portal Gear Reduction Recommendations:
- 38" max tire size with stock suspension
- 38" max tire size with 1.5" High Clearance A-Arms
- 40" max tire size with 3" Lift Kit
- 40" max tire size with 1.5" High Clearance A-Arms and 3" Lift Kit

- Max tire sizes are measured at full compression and full turn. The given tire sizes are the largest fit without rubbing. With minor trimming or a small amount of rub, larger tire sizes can be used.

Wheel requirements:
- 18" or larger wheel required
- 18" wheels cannot exceed 4-1/2" backspacing
- 20" and larger wheels cannot exceed 5" backspacing
- Wheels need to have a center hole of at least 3.25" (82.55mm) or require a 1" wheel spacer
