When you buy this 6" Portal Gear Lift for your Honda Talon 1000X, you get a say in what kind of housings are used (cast or billet aluminum), how much gear reduction you get, and whether or not you want the strength of dual idler gears. Available with 30%, 45%, or 60% gear reduction.
What is a Dual Idler®? After years of research and development, these dual idler gear portals are designed to spread the load over twice as much surface area for more reliable torque transfer and a stronger gear set. Precision CNC grinding ensures the gears are properly mated, and they’re made from 9310 steel alloy.
Great for Any Terrain Depending on your tire size and terrain, a 45% or 60% gear reduction is great for mud, while a 30% gear reduction delivers serious torque while maintaining a higher top speed.
A Gear Reduction That Protects Your Drivetrain By putting the gear reduction in the hub, these portals don’t add extra stress to your drivetrain, helping protect your axles, differential, prop shaft, and transmission from premature wear and tear.
Built with Superior Strength Choose cast or billet aluminum housings, along with 5/16" backing plates made from an advanced steel alloy. Features include:
- Reinforced housings optimized for gear retention and oil flow
- Advanced steel alloy backing plates stronger than chromoly
- gear oil is available for GDP Portals
- No vents, which have been tested and found to do more harm than good

Add Some Extra Frame Support After installing these 6" GDP portals, a frame stiffener is recommended to add stability and reinforcement for rough terrain.

- Max tire sizes are measured at full compression and full turn. The given tire sizes are the largest fit without rubbing. With minor trimming or a small amount of rub, larger tire sizes can be used.

Wheel Requirements:
- 18" or larger wheel required
- 18" wheels cannot exceed 4-1/2" backspacing
- 20" and larger wheels cannot exceed 5" backspacing
- Wheels need to have a center hole of at least 3.25" (82.55mm) or require a 1" wheel spacer
