What is a dual idler?With two idlers in the portal box, the load gets spread over two gears instead of one. The gears are precision CNC ground and made from 9310 steel alloy for strength and even force distribution.
Ride anywhere you want with 15% and 30% gear reductionsChoose a 15% reduction for boosted torque with more top-end speed, or a 30% reduction for maximum torque and acceleration, ideal for mud, rocks, and big tires.
A gear reduction that protects your drivetrainBecause the gear reduction is in the hub, it helps reduce stress on your axles, differential, prop shaft, and transmission so you can ride harder with less wear.
Stronger housings and backing platesChoose a cast or USA-made 6061 billet aluminum housing with advanced steel alloy backing plates. The housings are reinforced for gear retention and optimized for oil flow, and there are no vents.

Polaris General XP 1000 Portal max tire sizes
- 29" max tire size: stock suspension
- 35" max tire size: 1.5" Forward Offset A-Arms and 1.5" Rear Offset A-Arms
- 43" max tire size: 6" Lift Kit
Max tire sizes are measured at full compression and full turn. The given tire sizes are the largest fit without rubbing. With minor trimming or a small amount of rub, larger tire sizes can be used.

Wheel requirements:
- 14" or larger wheel required
- Cannot exceed 5" backspacing
- Not compatible with dual beadlock wheels
- Wheels need to have a center hole of at least 3.25" (82.55mm) or require a 1" wheel spacer
