You didn’t get a Ranger just to haul fence posts around your property, you got a Ranger because you wanted the ultimate party wagon. With an 8" GDP Portal Gear Lift installed, you’ll tear up mud holes, destroy rock gardens, and have room for up to 34" tires. Choose a 45%, 60%, or 70% gear reduction for more torque and better low-end power.
What is a Dual Idler®?
After years of research and development, SuperATV’s Dual Idler® portal design uses a second idler gear in the portal box to spread the load over more surface area for more reliable torque transfer and stronger gear operation. Precision CNC grinding ensures the gears are perfectly mated, and they’re made from 9310 steel alloy.
Mud Can’t Stop a 45%, 60%, or 70% Gear Reduction
An 8" lift gives you room for huge tires and helps you cruise over the mud instead of plowing through it. The 45%, 60%, and 70% gear reduction options provide more torque, quicker acceleration, and easier turning with big tires.
A Gear Reduction Protects Your Drivetrain
Because the gear reduction is in the hub, your axles, differential, prop shafts, and transmission are under less stress. That means less wear and more riding.

Housings and Backing Plates Built Stronger
GDP Portals are built for strength with your choice of cast or USA-made 6061 billet aluminum housings. They also use 5/16" backing plates made with an advanced steel alloy.

A Frame Stiffener Is Required
An 8" portal kit is heavy-duty hardware for heavy-duty machines, and a frame stiffener is required. A stock frame can bend, so don’t skip it.

Polaris Ranger XP 1000 Portal Gear Suspension Recommendations
- 2017-2020: Max tire size 34" with stock suspension; 37" with 1.5" Forward Offset A-Arms; 38" with 1.5" Forward Offset A-Arms and 3" Lift Kit; 40" with 6" Lift Kit
- 2021+: Max tire size 32" with stock suspension; 35" with 1.5" Forward Offset A-Arms; 36" with 1.5" Forward Offset A-Arms and 3" Lift Kit; 38" with 6" Lift Kit

- Max tire sizes are measured at full compression and full turn. The given tire sizes are the largest we fit without rubbing. With minor trimming or a small amount of rub, larger tire sizes can be used.
NOTE: If you plan on installing this portal kit with a preexisting RIDE System Rear Steering Kit, call us at 855-743-3427. We’ll make sure you get the correct compatible parts.
Wheel Requirements:
- 22" or larger wheel required
- Wheels cannot exceed 5" backspacing
- Wheels need to have a center hole of at least 3.25" (82.55mm) or require a 1" wheel spacer
