A portal gear reduction reduces stress on your axles, differential, prop shaft, and transmission compared to a traditional transmission gear reduction, because the reduction happens after your drivetrain. That means less damage and more confidence when you stay in the throttle.

Built for Strength and Reliability
Our top-of-the-line gears use premium, precision-ground 9310 alloy steel for smooth operation and long-lasting durability. The portal housings are reinforced in all the right places and designed with better oil flow and gearing forces in mind. Depending on configuration, you’ll get cast aluminum or USA-made billet aluminum housings.

Advanced Sealing and Hard Parts
Both housings use advanced gaskets with strong oil resistance, rubber O-rings, a sealed input gear, and a double-lipped output seal for dependable sealing throughout. The output bearing is a double-angular contact bearing designed to handle heavy hits and keep your wheels riding true.
The backing plates are made from a premium steel alloy and are 5/16" thick for serious strength. The universal hubs use a tapered output shaft for a secure lock that resists wobble and wear over time. Precision-ground stainless steel slotted rotors help stay cool and provide reliable braking.
Fitment and Requirements
- Polaris RZR PRO XP : 2020+
- Polaris RZR PRO XP 4 : 2020+
Wheel Requirements:
- 22" or larger wheel required
- Wheels cannot exceed 5" backspacing
- Wheels need to have a center hole of at least 3.25" (82.55mm) or require a 1" wheel spacer
A frame stiffener is required because the RZR PRO XP frame is not designed to handle the added demands of 8" GDP Portals without reinforcement.
Portal Gear Suspension Recommendations
- 40" tires: stock suspension
- 40" tires: 3" lift kit
- 43" tires: 1.5" forward front A-arms
- 43" tires: 1.5" forward front A-arms and 3-5" lift kit
Gear reductions listed are general guidelines to maximize torque and maintain factory top speed. A larger than recommended gear reduction will result in more torque and lower top speed. Give us a call for more information.
