Control the valvetrain in your 1998.5–2018 Dodge Ram 5.9L or 6.7L 24-Valve Cummins with the XDP XD313 Performance Valve Springs and Retainer Kit. Factory valve springs are not designed for the elevated boost pressures and higher RPMs that accompany performance upgrades such as aftermarket turbochargers and custom tuning. When exposed to these conditions, stock springs can cause valve float or reversion—allowing exhaust gases to reenter the cylinder and reducing engine performance. The XD313 Kit ensures proper valve control, eliminating float and improving engine stability under boost.
The XDP Performance Valve Springs feature a conical spring design that enhances control while reducing weight. Each spring is precision load mapped, matched within one pound of seat pressure, and stress-relieved for consistent performance and long-term reliability. This kit can support applications from stock to 2,000 horsepower competition builds, making it a one-time upgrade for any high-performance Cummins build. Each kit includes springs, retainers, and locks for complete installation and is backed by XDP’s 2-Year Unlimited Mileage
These valve springs require a spring pocket size of 1.190" or larger. If needed, any competent machine shop will be able to cut a larger spring pocket. In some rare instances the spring pocket may be too small due to OEM machining inconsistencies only on 1998.5–2002 models
