Upgrade the factory main bolts in your 2006-2010 GM 6.6L Duramax LBZ/LMM with the XDP X220 Main Stud Kit XD3008MS. Whether you are preparing your Duramax for the track or the street, upgrading the stock OEM main bolts is essential. The factory bolts often struggle to handle the pressures of high-horsepower applications. Constructed from 8740 Chromoly with an added proprietary element, these studs offer superior durability and will not stretch like factory bolts. The threads are rolled after heat-treatment to provide maximum fatigue strength. Rated at 220,000-236,000 psi tensile strength and 210,000-230,000 psi yield strength, these studs ensure a strong hold under higher combustion pressures.
Replacing the main bolts with studs not only provides increased strength but also allows for more accurate torque readings. Unlike conventional bolts that twist and react to two different forces simultaneously, studs apply force to the vertical axis, resulting in a more even clamping force. These studs are a must-have for high-performance applications and are reusable, unlike OEM Torque-To-Yield (TTY) bolts, which must be replaced after each use. The kit includes main studs, 12-point nuts, washers, and installation instructions for hassle-free installation. Assembly lubricant is sold separately.
