Upgrade the performance and reliability of your 2011-2023 6.7L Powerstroke with the XDP X220 Series Head Stud Kit XD3018HS. Replacing the factory head bolts is crucial when increasing horsepower and torque in your Super Duty. The OEM head bolts often fail to handle the extra pressure in high-performance applications, leading to cylinder head lifting. The XDP head studs ensure the cylinder heads remain securely in place, preventing head gasket failures.
Constructed from 8740 Chromoly Steel with an added proprietary element, these studs offer superior durability and will not stretch like stock bolts. The threads are rolled after heat-treating to provide maximum fatigue strength. Rated at 205,000+ psi yield strength and 225,000+ psi tensile strength, these studs guarantee a strong hold under higher combustion pressures.
Switching to head studs allows for more precise torque readings. Unlike bolts that twist and react to multiple forces, studs apply force along the vertical axis, ensuring even clamping force. This upgrade also simplifies engine assembly and ensures proper alignment of the cylinder heads every time. Unlike OEM Torque-To-Yield (TTY) bolts that need replacement after each use, these studs are reusable, making them ideal for high-performance applications. Manufactured in an ISO/TS 16949 quality control facility, the kit includes 12-point nuts, washers, and installation instructions for hassle-free setup. Assembly lubricant is sold separately.
