Baja Designs Squadron 2.0: What's New & Which One to Choose
New from Baja Designs
The Baja Designs Squadron has long been one of the most popular 3-inch auxiliary lights on the market. Now Baja Designs has rebuilt it from the ground up as the Squadron 2.0: brighter, easier to service, and more customizable than ever.
Whether you're adding fog lights to your Super Duty, ditch lights to your Jeep, or work lights to a fleet truck, here's what's new and how to pick the right Squadron 2.0 for your build.
In This Guide
What's New in the Squadron 2.0
Baja Designs kept the compact 3-inch footprint owners love and improved nearly everything inside it.
More Light Output
The 2.0 Sport puts out 26% more than the original Squadron Sport, and the 2.0 Pro is up 21% over the original Pro.
RGBW Backlight
An all-new backlight with 9 selectable colors lets you match your truck or add a custom look.
Easier Lens Swaps
New clip-in reflectors stay in place during lens changes, and new gaskets eliminate pinched O-rings.
Stronger Mounting
Light mounting pocket nuts eliminate stripped housings, and the redesigned bracket adds more vertical adjustment.
4-Pin Deutsch Standard
Every 2.0 wiring harness uses weatherproof 4-pin Deutsch connectors for plug-and-play installs.
IP69K Rated
Fully sealed against water and dust, built for mud, pressure washing, and river crossings.
Squadron 2.0 Sport vs. Pro
Both versions share the same 3.3-inch housing, so the choice comes down to how much light you need and how much power you want to draw.

Squadron vs. Squadron-R
The Squadron 2.0 uses Baja Designs' classic square housing, while the Squadron-R 2.0 uses a round housing in the same compact size. They offer the same 2.0 upgrades, so the choice mostly comes down to the look you want and where you're mounting them. Squadron-R also has its own matching rock guards.
Beam Patterns & Lens Colors
Spot
A tight, long-reaching beam for seeing far down the trail. Popular for ditch lights and A-pillar mounts.
Driving/Combo
A balance of distance and spread. The most versatile all-around pattern.
Wide Cornering
Wide, short-range light that fills in your peripheral vision. A favorite for fog lights.
Work/Scene
Even, wide flood lighting for working around the truck, campsite, or job site.
Most patterns come in Clear or Baja Amber. Amber cuts glare in dust, fog, rain, and snow, while clear delivers the most raw output. Because the 2.0's lenses are easy to swap, you can also change colors or patterns later. See our Squadron 2.0 customization guide.
